Eucharistic Ministers

        & Sacristans

Eucharistic Ministers help the priests and deacons distribute the precious body and blood of Christ during the Mass.  They are specially trained for this ministry and upon completion of the training they receive a commission as Eucharistic Ministers.

Parishioners who feels called to this very important ministry should contact Dn. Kevin Mauch at dk@holycross-moorpark.org or call him at the parish offices

Communion Ministers to the Sick and Elderly:

I was sick and you visited me  Mt. 25:36

Some of our Eucharistic Ministers are specially trained and available to bring Holy Communion to our parishioners who may be sick, elderly or unable to join us in Church.  If you know of a Catholic in our community who is wishing to receive Holy Communion but is homebound for any reason, please notify our parish office or Deacon Derrel Craig at dnderrelcraig@holycross-moorpark.org and we will be delighted to see to their needs.

Sacristans are those Eucharistic Ministers who have received considerable extra training in the multitude of tasks that must be accomplished before and after the Mass to ensure that the entire Liturgy of the Eucharist runs smoothly.

Sacristans usually arrive well before Mass, prepare the hosts, the wine, the Chalice and all else related to the efficient and smooth distribution of Holy Communion is available and ready for the priests, deacons and the Eucharistic Ministers.  (see Master Schedule of Sacristans)

If you are interested in the Ministry we invite you to contact Deacon Kevin Mauch at the parish offices and speak with him.
